We’re excited to share that our neighbors at CultureWorks are launching a new session of engaging, creative programs for students, and they are all completely FREE! Keeping their commitment to accessibility, CultureWorks is continuing to offer 9-week classes at no cost to ensure any and all interested students can participate. Classes kick off in early November.
The programs run weekly and offer students a chance to explore art and design in fun, practical ways:
Tuesdays:
Crochet Class: Knitters are welcome too! Learn new skills and create projects in this fun fiber arts class.
Printer Play: Students will explore creative writing, collage, and other art pieces by using office printers as a tool for small-scale publication.
Wednesdays:
Open Studio: Come and create! Students get access to all the studio's supplies, plus instructors who can help them explore new mediums.
Thursdays:
Graphic Design: Teens will learn industry-standard software from Art Director Allyse Karam (Amazon's German publishing), gaining valuable skills in a dynamic field.
Songwriting Workshop: Offered in partnership with Escape Ministries, students can write and revise songs or poems and then record their final pieces in Escape's professional studio.
CultureWorks provides free transportation from school to classes for any student who needs it.
CultureWorks is also open to visiting classrooms to lead an activity with students. If you're an educator or know one who is interested, or if you have any questions, you can contact Program Director Miranda Craig at miranda@thecultureworks.org.
Encourage any interested student to sign up now—spaces may be limited!
