At Maple Avenue Ministries, we believe in being a "place of embrace", and sometimes that embrace comes in the form of a handmade quilt. For the past half-year, our Common Threads group has been meeting to build relationships and create beautiful gifts for the newest members of our MAMily.
The group has reached a heartwarming milestone: completing four custom quilts in just six months! These handmade treasures were created specifically to welcome the babies born recently at MAM. Most recently, Baby Martín and Deanna’s new son received quilts to cuddle up with, serving as a tangible reminder of the love and support of this congregation.
While blankets for babies have been the focus so far, the group is ready to expand its horizons. As they look to the future, Common Threads is exploring new ways to use their hands to serve God and the community, including:
Beautifying Our Church: Creating textile art and decor to enhance our shared worship space.
Fundraising: Crafting special items for future church fundraisers.
Community Support: Identifying and meeting specific needs within our neighborhood through sewing and crafting.
Whether you are a master quilter or have never threaded a needle, you are welcome here. Common Threads is as much about the laughter and connection as it is about the stitches. Fun is always being had, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
Next Meeting: March 30

Come join us as we continue to grow together, reconciled to Christ and each other through fellowship and service.
