At Maple Avenue Ministries, congregational health is measured by how well we know one another. We want to be a place where no one feels unknown or isolated.

A Challenge for the MAMily In a world that is more electronically connected than ever, "social isolation" remains a struggle for many. This month, we invite you to look at your social calendar:

  • How often have you engaged with other members outside of worship lately?

  • Can you make space to grab coffee or a meal with someone you’d like to know better?

Upcoming Opportunities to Connect

  • 427 Club Senior Lunch: If you are a senior, join us at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25 in the Gold Room. It’s a wonderful time for a light lunch and meaningful conversation.

  • May Neighborhood Gathering: We are planning a special event for May (likely outdoors!) and we want to hear from you. What kind of gathering would you love to attend with your neighbors? Please share your thoughts with a member of the Embrace Team (Viola Jackson, George VanderBeek, Jay Van Groningen and Alex Velazquez).

  • Juneteenth Celebration (June 13): It’s almost time for our annual Juneteenth celebration on campus! Start training for the 5K run/walk and look forward to a full day of food, games, music, and a neighborhood scavenger hunt. More details are coming soon!

Volunteer: Westcore Neighborhood Listening Project We are looking for 4–6 volunteers to join a team focused on discovering the history and gifts of our neighborhood. If you have a heart for Westcore and want to help us listen better to our neighbors, please contact Jay or visit the Welcome Desk for more information.
