Upgrading Jesus

Hello Maple Avenue Ministries Family,

This past Sunday, we gathered to explore the first part of our new series, "Upgrading Jesus," with a thought-provoking sermon titled "Surprised by Jesus" delivered by David Brander. Drawing from Mark 6:30-44, we were invited to re-examine our perceptions of Jesus and open our hearts to the unexpected ways He can work in our lives.

- Unexpected Compassion: We learned how Jesus, despite being pursued for miracles, first chose to teach the crowd, demonstrating His deep compassion and commitment to guiding us spiritually.
- Challenging Our Assumptions: The sermon challenged us to reconsider our preconceived notions about Jesus' role in our lives, urging us to approach Him without expectations and to be open to His surprising ways.
- Faith Beyond Resources: The miracle of feeding the 5,000 reminded us that Jesus can do extraordinary things with our seemingly meager resources, encouraging us to trust in His provision and power.

As we reflect on these insights, let's enter this week with renewed openness to Jesus' teachings and a willingness to embrace His surprises. May we find strength in community and faith in His abundant provisions. We're blessed to have you in our congregation, and we hope to see you at our next gathering.
