Hello Maple Avenue Ministries Family,

What if moving forward begins not with getting even, but with letting God heal what still hurts?  This past Sunday we concluded “It Was All A Dream" with a message rooted in Genesis 50:14–21. We learned, Joseph’s response to his brothers offers a meaningful invitation to trust God with our wounds and our future.

Here are the key points to carry into this week:

• Trust God beyond what you understand. Joseph could acknowledge his brothers’ harmful intentions while recognizing God’s preserving work: “Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Maturity means trusting what God says even when we cannot understand what He is doing.

• Forgiveness does not require unrestricted access.  Releasing revenge is not the same as ignoring harm or removing boundaries. We can address wrongdoing, use wisdom about relationships, and still ask God to help us respond with grace rather than retaliation.

• Let healing shape your responses. Pain deserves attention, but it does not have to direct every decision. A healed heart learns to respond with kindness, wisdom, and obedience to God. We can bring God the triggers, trauma's, hurts and wounds, and seek support from trustworthy people as we grow.

• Your faithfulness reaches beyond you. Joseph’s obedience helped preserve his family. Our choices also affect our homes and community. Staying committed to God’s purpose, becoming the people He calls us to be, and following through faithfully can bless those around us and generations to come.

This week, take a quiet moment to name one hurt before God. Ask, “Where do I need healing, where do I need to forgive, and what boundary will help me move forward wisely?” If you recognize harm you have caused, consider an honest apology rather than an excuse. You do not have to force healing or face pain alone. As we pursue wholeness together, may our homes and community experience the kindness and freedom God is forming in us.

In Christ’s love,
