Hello Maple Avenue Ministries Family,

This past Sunday's sermon, delivered by Dr. Michelle Loyd-Paige, was a powerful conclusion to our "Game Changer" series. We explored the story of Queen Vashti from Esther 1:9-12, a narrative often overshadowed by Esther's rise but pivotal in its own right. Dr. Loyd-Paige highlighted Queen Vashti's courageous refusal to be objectified, a decision that resonated as a profound act of dignity and self-respect.

- Courageous Refusal: Through Vashti's story, we learned that sometimes holiness looks like refusal. Her decision to say "no" was a powerful reminder that we do not need permission to honor the image of God within us.
- Empowerment Through Boundaries: Vashti's actions teach us that boundaries can be sacred and that not every crown is worth compromising our dignity. She showed us the strength found in standing firm in our beliefs.
- Inspiring Change: The ripple effect of Vashti's refusal empowered other women, demonstrating that one person's courage can inspire systemic change. Her story encourages us to challenge unjust systems and embrace our God-given purpose.

As we reflect on these powerful lessons, let's approach this week with the courage to set boundaries that honor our worth and the determination to inspire change in our communities. We're blessed to have you in our community, and we hope to see you at our next gathering.

In Christ's love,
